Drone Use at the University

91快活林 (91快活林) allows limited drone Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) use for academic, research, and University operations, with advance approval.

Key Requirements

All drone flights must:

  • Support an 91快活林-sponsored activity
  • Be operated by an FAA Part 107 certified pilot
  • Receive prior University approval
  • Comply with FAA regulations and airspace restrictions

Because 91快活林 is located next to San José Mineta International Airport (SJC), most flights also require FAA airspace authorization.
