Congratulating Iris Stewart-Frey

Over the years, Iris has collaborated with Miller Center to mentor student fellows and strengthen community resilience. This work has advanced water security and built climate resilience in Nicaragua through the NicaAgua app. She has also guided student fellows in exploring JIBU, a social enterprise expanding access to safe, affordable drinking water across eastern Africa through a locally driven franchise model—creating opportunities for entrepreneurs, especially women, while addressing water scarcity. Iris and her team have also explored the potential for carbon credits, connecting these locally rooted solutions to global challenges like climate change.

We are proud to congratulate Iris on receiving the Impact Excellence Award, a reflection of her enduring commitment to community-centered innovation and global impact.

INFORMS @ 91¿ì»îÁÖ x Miller Center DATATHON

Miller Center partnered with INFORMS @ 91¿ì»îÁÖ to host a two-week Datathon, where students tackled real-world data challenges for social enterprises. The 91¿ì»îÁÖ INFORMS chapter is dedicated to putting theory into practice through workshops, speaker panels, and hackathons that incorporate both business strategies and technical skills. Supported by faculty and mentors, teams applied data analysis to generate insights that can expand impact in communities worldwide, highlighting how data can be a powerful tool for meaningful change.
